Flashback Friday: Billie Piper

I just recently started watching series one of Doctor Who, and I was shocked when I discovered Rose was played by Billie Piper. I didn’t even know she was an actress…most people probably know her as Rose, but to me she was Billie, a singer I loved in the late 90s/early 2000s.

From what I can tell, she was fairly popular here in Canada and in the UK, but not so much in the US. I have her debut album, Honey to the Bee, and still actually get some of her songs stuck in my head, even all these years later. I remember when her single Because We Want To was played ALL THE TIME on the radio and Much Music.

I have a few favourite songs from the album, but I particularly love this one - it's just so much fun. There's no official video, but you can hear the song here:

Do you remember Billie's music? Are you a Doctor Who fan?

Oh.

My.

God.

You and I are freaking kindred spirits. I know we've already agreed to this fact, but this just solidifies it even more. I freaking LOVED Billie!!! It was the 4th CD I ever bought. I loved "She Wants You", it was one of my absolute favorite songs. I used to listen to it over and over and over again. It was awesome. I still get on a kick once in awhile for that CD. I remember seeing her on the movie Mansfield Park and saying "OMG, that's the girl who was the singer, I recognize the name!!!!!" Hahahahahaa!!

Oh, I am loving this awesomeness too much. Now I must listen to the song!!! <

Ha! This is so funny! I just found out about Billie through Doctor Who and NOW I'm checking out her other stuff. I haven't listened to her music in depth yet, but I am watching Secret Diaries of a Call Girl, which is really good.

I also great very much addicted to David Tennant and am working my way through his very LARGE collection of narrations, movies, plays, etc.

Yay for Doctor Who bringing everyone together!
